Christmas Pics

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Isaiah 9:2

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Peace on Earth? And Random Pics :)

"I heard the bells on Christmas Day

Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Till, ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Then from each black accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound
The carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearth-stones of a continent,
And made forlorn
The households born
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;
"For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead; nor doth he sleep!
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!"

- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The times in which we are living are wicked. Just last week there was a shooting at a school in Connecticut, and last night two police officers were killed in my hometown. It is sad to see the "peace on earth-good will to men" slipping away (not that it was here completely since the fall of man)!

The second part of Jeremiah 6:14 and 8:11 says:
"Peace, peace; when there is no peace."

How true this is!
Someday (soon Lord willing), Jesus will return and there will finally be peace!
For now, we must make ourselves ready for that day.

It's been 72 Years

Sunday, December 7th, 1941..."A date which will live in infamy"
The Naval Force at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii was taken by surprise as some Japanese planes flew over their island in waves, bombing the ground below.

Seeing that I LOVE WWII history, and seeing that this is after all Pearl Harbor Day, let me just say this...

"If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life,
And I had to start again
with just my children and my wife,
I'd thank my lucky stars
to be living here today,
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota
to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas
from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston
and New York to L.A.,
There's pride in every American heart
and it's time we stand and say:

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A."

-God Bless the USA

"O say can you see by the dawn's early light,

What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?"
- Star Spangled Banner

...we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain...

After Thanksgiving...

Out of all the craziness of Thanksgiving, I completely forgot to take my camera to our grandparents' house! Oh well... but I got some great pictures a couple weeks ago out at their place:

Give Thanks

Great Thanksgiving quotes!

"You say, 'If I had a little more, I should be very satisfied.' You make a mistake. If you are not content with what you have, you would not be satisfied if it were doubled." -Charles Haddon Spurgeon

"If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, 'thank you,' that would suffice." -Meister Eckhart

"For flowers that bloom about our feet;
 For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet;
 For song of bird, and hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee!" -Ralph Waldo Emerson

"On Thanksgiving Day, all over America, families sit down to dinner at the same moment - halftime." -Author Unknown

"On Thanksgiving Day we acknowledge our dependence." -William Jennings Bryan

"Perhaps it takes a purer faith to praise God for unrealized blessings than for those we once enjoyed or those we enjoy now." -A.W. Tozer

"O Lord that lends me life, Lend me a heart replete with thankfulness." -William Shakespeare

"God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say 'thank you?'" -William A. Ward

"If you want to turn your life around, try thankfulness. It will change your life mightily." -Gerald Good

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." -John F. Kennedy

"Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness." -Psalm 30:4

To the Glory of God

"Whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." -1 Corinthians 10:31

"The great marvel of the Incarnation slips into ordinary childhood's life; the great marvel of the Transfiguration vanishes in the devil-possessed valley; the glory of the Resurrection descends into a breakfast on the sea-shore. This is not an anti-climax, but a great revelation of God.

The tendency is to look for the marvelous in our experience; we mistake the sense of the heroic for being heroes. It is one thing to go through a crisis grandly, but another thing to go through every day glorifying God when there is no witness, no limelight, no one paying the remotest attention to us. If we do not want medieval haloes, we want something that will make people say - What a wonderful man of prayer he is! What a pious devoted woman she is! If you are rightly devoted to the Lord Jesus, you have reached the sublime heigt where no one ever thinks of noticing you, all that is noticed is that the power of God cokes through you all the time.

Oh, I have had a wonderful call from God! It takes Almighty God Incarnate in us to do the meanest duty to the Glory of God. It takes God's Spirit in us to make us so absolutely humanly His that we are utterly unnoticeable. The test of the life of a saint is not success, but faithfulness in human life as it actually is. We will set up success in Christian work as the aim; the aim is to manifest the glory of God in human life, to live the life hid with Christ in God in human conditions. Our human relationships are the actual conditions in which the ideal life of God is to be exhibited."

Stand For Truth

"There's a war within our land, a battle for the right
The lies of the enemy are clouding out the light
But God has raised His banner high, He calls for no retreat.
As faithful soldiers let us stand, and claim His victory!

Stand for truth though you're standing all alone
Stand for truth, God will help and make you strong
Run with courage in the fight, walk in faith and not by sight
Stand for truth, Stand for truth.

And so the battle rages, with choices everyday
Will we search the word of God or toss the truth away
Let us hold on to His promises and seek the higher call
Listening for the vict'ry cry, giving Him our all!

Stand for truth though you're standing all alone
Stand for truth, God will help and make you strong
Run with courage in the fight, walk in faith and not by sight
Stand for truth, Stand for truth.
Run with courage in the fight, walk in faith and not by sight
Stand for truth, Stand for truth."

Some trust in...OBAMA

"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses (or Obamacare): but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen, but we are risen, and stand upright." -Psalm 20:7-8

Lamentations 5 says:
Verse 1: Remember, O Lord, what has happened to us; look, and see our disgrace.
Verse 2: Our inheritance has been turned over to aliens, our homes to foreigners.
Verse 16: The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned!
Verse 21: Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may return; renew our days as of old
Verse 22: unless you have utterly rejected us and are angry with us beyond measure.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then willI hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." -2 Chronicles 4:17

My 2yo brother was talking to himself the other day when the rest of us heard, "Obama disgusting." from his little mouth. Then Hannah asked him if he liked Obama and he said no. She then asked him if Obama was president... he said, "No Obama not da pwesident, GOD da pwesident!"

OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES!

No matter what the next four years holds for us, as Christians, we know that God is on our side. He will never leave us, nor forsake us...

Be still, my soul, the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He, faithful, will remain.
Be still, my soul, thy best, thy heavenly friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Come ye Christians join to...VOTE!!

I don't know much about voting...but I do know that it is important that we, as Christians, help the US by voting for candidates who support Christian principles (i.e. Anti-Abortion, one man + one woman marriage, etc.)

CHRISTIANS! If you have registered to vote, then VOTE for Godly men and women!

Alexis de Tocqueville said:
"America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great."

Pretty much says it all...We are already ceasing to be good. We have turned into a pluralistic society. Immoral. We are way over our heads in debt. Our president has been apologizing for the burning of the Koran. But when it comes to the Bible, its okay! Evolution has seized our public schools, and even some of our CHURCHES! There are wolves running about us in sheep's clothing.

WAKE UP AMERICAN CHRISTIANS!
Don't sit around while unbelievers vote for unbelievers!

"You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it." - John Quincy Adams

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, andpray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14

The Five Scariest Things you can do this Halloween

  1. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to not make light of evil. Halloween was conceived in evil and has remained a celebration that uses children to promote a fascination with darkness and superstitious fear. Simultaneously, it makes light of things that the Bible describes as evil. Stand against such things, and the world will find you very scary indeed. The fear of the Lord makes men turn from evil (Proverbs 16:6).
  2. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to not be fearful. The media wants you to be afraid of everything from overpopulation to global warming. The politicians want you to be afraid of the economy and political instability. God wants you to do what is morally right, trust Him completely, and never be gripped by an ungodly spirit of fear. You can place your trust and hope for this nation in the King of Kings. Jesus said: “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him” (Luke 12:4–5). Believe this, and you will be light to the world.
  3. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to completely skip Halloween and remember Reformation Day. It was 495 years ago that Martin Luther nailed his world-changing 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg church. These theses included rebukes to ungodly fear and superstition. 504 years ago, sometime near October 31, a baby named John Calvin was conceived who would dedicate his life to eradicating an ungodly fear of superstitious beliefs and proclaiming the gospel of grace. His emphasis on reformation, revival, and the sufficiency of Scripture had such far-reaching implications for nations like the United States that he has been described by Christian and secular scholars alike as the true founding father of America. The Reformers did something that was very scary to the world of their day. They stood against all forms of dark superstitions which grip the minds and souls of men. It was their emphasis on the fear of the Lord and the wisdom of Holy Scripture that was used by God to liberate untold numbers of men and women. But to remember the Reformers instead of Halloween is very scary to the world. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10).
  4. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to refuse to watch or allow your children to watch any of the toxic Halloween and horror films emerging from Hollywood . America’s fascination with ungodly fear has made horror the most popular and fastest-growing film genre among youth. When parents allow their children to toy with this genre, they promote ungodly fear, and they contribute to the fear-factories in Hollywood that prey upon the youth of our culture. Say “no” to Hollywood horror and you will be dangerously scary to the media elite. “Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence .… ?” (Jeremiah 5:22).
  5. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to get on your knees as a mother and father and pray that the Lord will send you many children who will fear God, not man — children who will especially shun the glorification of witchcraft, the bondage of ungodly fear, and the “cute-ification” of evil that is promoted through holidays like Halloween. Cultures that toy with evil end up being cultures of death. The Christian response is to be a people of life. That means babies. It means fearing God by honoring His command to “be fruitful and multiply.” It means remembering that the Scripture describes children as a “blessing” and a “reward.” Raise children that fear God more than man, and that will be answer enough to our Halloween-and darkness-obsessed culture; for if you trust God over your womb and commit your children to a holy education, you will be very scary to the modern world. “Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord” (Psalm 34:11).
Credited to Vision Forum Ministries for coming up with these wonderful things to do this Halloween. (I just copied and pasted) :)

Rejoice! Be Glad!

Here are some more verses I have found on persecution:
If you are a Christian, don't expect life to be easy.
"
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."
II Timothy 3:12

"Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
I Peter 4:12-16
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."
II Corinthians 12:9-10

"
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;"
II Corinthians 4:17

"
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul."
Hebrews 10:35-39

How Would You Respond?

If someone holding a gun walked up to you and asked if you were a Christian, what would you say? Would you face them? or deny Him? This question has been on my mind a lot lately.

On the night preceding the crucifixion of Jesus, Simon Peter was asked three times if he was a follower of "Jesus of Galilee."  "But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest."

April 20th, 1999 - A seventeen year old young lady is eating lunch with a friend outside of her high school building.

Suddenly a teenage boy appears, "Are you a Christian?" He asks, pointing a gun at her head. She replies, "I am."
He shoots her in many places, killing her.

There are people all around the world suffering for "righteousness sake," lets do the same!

Don't forget, International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is November 11th this year.

"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." Matthew 5:10-12

"Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body." Hebrews 13:3

"Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." James 1:3

Jesus never said that to follow Him would be easy.
How would you respond?

My family helped out a friend (who set up his stand) at Huff N Puff this year. While I was on break, I went and took some pictures. :)

I also decided that I want to start doing "Pic of the Month" posts. So here is the first one.

Creation Museum/Answers in Genesis

I'm a little behind on my blogging! :-/ SORRY!

While my family was up in Indianapolis [and while I was in class] they drove two hours to the Creation Museum in Kentucky...to see Buddy Davis and Dan "The Animal Man" Breeding (and of course, the museum).
Singing "It's designed to do what it does do what it does do it does do well doesn't it yes it does I think it does do you I do hope you do too do you" (take a breath) :-)

Gomer the camel
I like to think that within a few years, I will be working here with these wonderful people!

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard,

...that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31

Has GOT to be one of my most favorite verses! :)

Three weeks ago, I was hosting a Bright Lights conference at my church.
Two weeks ago I was in Texas helping with the conference there.
Last week I was in Wisconsin.
Now I am in Indianapolis at Verity Institute, taking an AWESOME design class, from two AWESOME instructors!!!!
ANYWAYS... I have random pictures from the past three weeks:
We had about a total of between 350-500 for the Strong in the Lord and Radiant Purity put together

While we were there we got to hear Dr. Jason Lisle speak...
(one of my favorite parts of the trip) ;)

Now, I don't have any pictures from Indy, (my parents took my camera with them to the Creation Museum) but I have edited some pictures I have taken in the past with something I learned to do:

PRETTY SWEET, RIGHT?

So, that has been my month and a half...
Hope you enjoyed!
